Extrinsic Stain
Extrinsic staining is less likely to occur with effective oral hygiene habits. The staining agents (i.e., chromogenic bacteria, food/drink such as coffee, tea, red wine, blueberries, some drug and tobacco use, metallic compound exposure) will not adhere to a smooth enamel surface. Rather, the acquired pellicle and plaque/calculus accumulation incorporates the stain.
Brown stains are common and could be due to several causes, such as tobacco and foods/beverages. Yellow extrinsic stain is often the result of poor hygiene and heavy plaque buildup.
NUYU Teeth Whitening gel will whiten extrinsic stains.
Intrinsic Stain
Intrinsic staining typically presents yellow, brown, gray or orange. It also includes white or brown spots on teeth that can be caused by dental fluorosis, demineralization, and hypocalcification. Tetracycline staining that is incorporated in tooth structure has a grayish brown hue.
Teeth Whitening gels and toothpastes will not be able to whiten intrinsic stains.

The NUYU teeth whitening process begins with using a prefilled mouth tray and our Whitening Accelerator lights The Whitening Accelerator light produces an intense cold light, illuminates the teeth, and boosts the release of hydroxyl radicals at a wavelength of 400 to 500 nanometers, proven to be the optimal range for teeth whitening. Harmful ultra-violet (UV) and infrared light is completely removed by the filtering system, leaving only a focused beam of cold light in the blue-cyan spectrum, penetrating deep into the teeth and activating the whitening formula to its optimal potency.
The mouthpiece is designed to press peroxide gel onto the tooth surface for optimal whitening. The Accelerator’s intense cold light activates the gel and rapidly accelerates the whitening process. In just 30 minutes, teeth discoloration from years of staining foods and drinks, coffee and tobacco products are eliminated, leaving beautiful, bright smiles. Step 1 – Before Shade
The shade guide provided is a premium shade guide with 27 shades for the most accurate comparison on the market. Make sure to start on the right side of the shade guide and use the darkest shade found on the teeth. Select the most stained tooth of their smile and compare it with the Portrait IPN shade guide to obtain their current tooth shade. Pull out your best mirror and ask them if the shade you selected matches their teeth. After you find their shade, you pull the tooth out of the shade guide and show them. Keep their before shade out of the Shade Guide
Step 2 – The Brush Up
The Oral Brush-up is a textured teeth wipe that quickly cleans plaque off of teeth and freshens your breath. It fits over the client’s finger like a little sock to wipe over your teeth and gums. It doesn’t require any water or rinsing. This quick brush up will allow the gel to contact the stains that have been there for years.
Step 3 – Vitamin E Swab
While the client is using the brush-up, take out the Vitamin E Swab and snap off the side with the red line completely. This will allow the vitamin e to settle at the other side of the swab. Once it has settled, hand the client the Vitamin E Swab and have them coat their gums and lips while holding their smile.
Step 4 – Prefilled Whitening Tray
The mouth trays are prefilled with whitening gel. When the client is done applying the Vitamin E, open the mouth tray pouch and have the CLIENT remove it. Instruct the client to place the mouth tray in their mouth with the gel towards the front of their teeth. Once the mouth tray is in their mouth instruct the client to bite down NATURALLY & relax.
Step 5- Apply Whitening Light
Give the client protective goggles to protect their eyes from the light. The light accelerates the whitening process by releasing hydroxyl radicals. Adjust the whitening light to make the clients smile as close as possible without touching the client. Ensure the client’s mouth is completely blue then set the timer to 30 minutes and press start to begin the whitening process. Once their time is up let them rinse out their mouth and proceed to show them RESULTS.
Step 6 – Results
This is the best part, where you get to show your client their results. Compare their whitest tooth to the shade guide and remove it from the shade guide. Pull out your best mirror and ask them if the shade you selected matches their teeth. Then show them the before shade and after shade together to show them their progress. Count the number of shades between their shades and tell them how many shades whiter their smile is. Depending on how white their smile is, to begin with typically clients receive 2-8 Shades whiter smiles in their first whitening. We always recommend follow up whitening every month for 2 months for the ultimate white smile. Results can last a lifetime but what we eat, and drink stains our teeth and recommend completely 3 whitening’s once a year to keep their smiles white.
Step 7- Maintenance
Step 7 is all about making that new bright white smile last. Let the client know that for 24 hours they will want to avoid coffee, tea, tobacco, and other dark-colored food and drinks. The teeth whitening pen is highly recommended and can be an up-sell or given away as part of the whitening. Instruct them to apply the whitening gel from the pen before they go to sleep at night. Tell them to only apply the gel directly to the smile zone. The pen lasts for 30-60 days if used daily.

What is the minimum age to have this whitening procedure done?
16- or 17-year-olds can have this procedure done with the consent of their parent or guardian, but younger than 16, must have approval from management.
Is the NUYU teeth whitening suitable for everyone?
The NUYU teeth whitening process delivers phenomenal results for natural teeth that have been stained by smoking or by substances like coffee, tea or red wine. It is likely that it may help dental restorations, such as bonds, veneers, fillings, or crowns by getting closer to the original color their dentist first gave them and help even out their smile. However, we don’t guarantee this. There has also been success with clients that have discoloration caused by steroids and chemotherapy, it is suggested that they are given a two-session package. Pregnant women, children under the age of 16, and clients with periodontal disease are discouraged from undergoing this procedure. Also, anyone with sores or cuts in their mouths, dental work that needs to be done (fillings, root canals, etc.) or have gum disease are advised to have this corrected by their dentist prior to getting this procedure.
Should I have my teeth cleaned by a dentist before I get my teeth whitened?
It would definitely not hurt the process because the cleaner your teeth are the more apt, they will be to the teeth whitening procedure and it is important to avoid dark foods and drinks for two to three hours after a cleaning to give the pellicle (invisible layer of glycoprotein’s) time to reform.
How white could my teeth get?
Individual results will vary, depending on the stain type, level of stain, genetics, and thickness of tooth enamel. You can expect to see an improvement of up to 14 shades whiter on the Portrait IPN Shade Guide after one tooth whitening session and more improvement with more sessions.
What are the white spots on my teeth?
These spots are calcium deposits, and they will appear brighter after the whitening process, but it will subside within 24 hours.
How long will the whitening last?
This varies from person to person and depends on diet and lifestyle (smoking, chewing tobacco, coffee or soda consumption, etc.), but results could last up to two years with proper maintenance. Using the NUYU TEETH WHITENING pen everyday will help maintain their bright smiles by removing daily stains. Also, we strongly recommend that for the 24 hours following the procedure, the client uses the whitening pen at least three times while the teeth are still porous. This will help to even out the smile and avoid relapse.
How many times do I need to come back?
We recommend 3 whitening’s to prevent Relapse and increase your overall shade. Keep in mind that if your teeth are higher up on the shade guide you may need only use the whitening pen for maintenance. Relapse is when your teeth color reverts to its original color. Not everyone will relapse & it’s hard to know who will relapse & who won’t. It depends on genetics, but we find that relapse is rare after 3 sessions and/or use of whitening after the client’s session. The average client will return once every 6-12 months for a follow-up, but results can last up to 2 years.
Is it safe?
Yes, scientific studies have shown that using hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth is effective and safe. The dental community has used it in teeth whitening for years. It does not change or damage the structure of teeth; it merely makes them appear whiter and brighter.

Yes, the FDA has approved cosmetic/led tooth whitening procedure
How long does whitening take?
In only 30 minutes, tooth discoloration that has built up over the years will be lifted off! It takes no longer than the time it would for you to have a haircut, a manicure, or a cup of coffee – it is that simple!
What type of gel do you use?
We use a 36% Carbamide Peroxide (10-14.7% HP equivalent) with a 2% HP photo initiator that’s made in the U.S.A. Whitening Pens are 12% Hydrogen Peroxide and also made in the U.S.A.
I have a crown on my anterior or front teeth. Will your product whiten my crown? No, but it can brighten up old dental work that have accumulated stains over the years. We cannot whiten any dental work beyond the original color that the dentist put in, but we can restore it to its original color.
I am getting a new veneer/crown. Should I get my teeth whitened first?
Yes! You should get your teeth whitened to your desired color, wait two weeks for the color to stabilize, then go to your dentist and have him match the crown to the NUYU TEETH WHITENING shade of your teeth.
How do I use the pen?
Brush onto teeth and let it set for 20 minutes and then rinse. The whitening pen works well to get in the hard-to-reach areas. It’s a great way to get rid of daily stains, prolonging the results from teeth whitening. Be sure to use whitening pen at least 3 times within the following 24 hours following the whitening.
What is the difference between the NUYU method and others out there?
The NUYU teeth whitening gel whitens your teeth immediately and has no side effects. The result is 30% better than home whitening products and comparable technologies.
Will it hurt?
You may experience tingling along the gums during the whitening. However, if you experience pain during the procedure, immediately remove the mouth tray and consult your dentist.
Most of our customers experience no pain or sensitivity after the whitening. A very small percentage of clients may feel a minor ache and some sensitivity in their gums within the first twelve hours following the procedure. For teeth sensitivity place a small amount of Sensodyne toothpaste in cup and have client rub on teeth and keep there for 15-30 minutes. Instruct client to use Sensodyne for the next two to three days until sensitivity subsides. For gum sensitivity poor some liquid vitamin E into cup and have client apply to gums. All sensitivity should dissipate within 24 hours. Avoid cold or hot drinks for the first 24 hours if there is any tooth sensitivity.
Is there anything that I need to do after the teeth whitening session?
For the 24 hours following the teeth whitening session be sure to avoid coffee, tea, dark colas, colored drinks, wine, beetroot, and other foods and drinks that stain your teeth. Also, NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS (cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco).
Do I need to be a Dental or Licensed Professional?
No, Teeth Whitening is considered a retail product that is client administered and not a dental procedure. With our professional system you are not entering your client’s mouth. The prefilled silicone whitening tray is applied by the client, and you simply set the light. You have zero direct contact with your client.
How white will my teeth get?
Individual results vary, depending on your genetics, what type of stain you have (yellow=easiest to remove, brown=somewhat more difficult to remove, gray=difficult may require a series of whitening’s), and how thick your enamel is.
We typically see 2 – 8 shades improvement in the first session: then 1-3 shades in follow-up sessions.
How long do the results last?
Individual results vary, depending on your tendency to absorb stains, your diet (coffee, tea, red wine, sodas, etc) and lifestyle (tobacco products).
Results can last up to 2 years, with proper maintenance: using the Whitening Pen, avoiding staining products, avoiding enamel-stripping substances (drugstore white strips, sugar, sodas), avoiding drugstore whitening toothpastes that contain silica or other abrasive ingredients which scratch enamel.
2-4 sessions are recommended to prevent relapse. Relapse is when bleached teeth revert back to their original stained color.
Getting 2-4 sessions greatly helps prevent relapse. If your salon or spa decides to incorporate teeth whitening into your line of services, you can offer follow-up sessions right at your location. If not, we recommend clients use the Whitening Pen so they can perform their follow ups at home. They are meant for maintenance, to remove daily stains but not for tougher, deeper stains from years of accumulation. Therefore, they are only 30% as effective as in-office whitening in the presence of the whitening accelerator light.)
Who manufactures your products?
Our specially formulated gel products are made in a lab in the USA.
How often can I get my teeth whitened?
Whitening the teeth 2-4 times per year does not deteriorate enamel. Check with your Dentist regarding your specific situation and questions.
Does teeth whitening work for everyone?
Teeth Whitening is not effective on individuals with stained teeth as a result of certain medications, decalcification, or those who were born with grayish teeth. It is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women, or children under 18. Unless written permission from an adult.
Will teeth whitening affect dental work?
The whitening process will only whitening veneers and crowns back to their original color. The process does not adversely affect these structures or fillings.
Are there any side effects?
A small percentage of clients will experience some slight tingling sensation during the whitening.
Does the gel cause sensitivity?
NUYU was engineered to be an effective, affordable and pain free whitening. Our process does NOT require uncomfortable prep time or the use of gingiva blocking or retractors.
Our specially formulated gel is pH balanced and does not contain citric acid or silica which are commonly found in many over-the-counter whitening strips, known for causing sensitivity. Most clients experience low sensitivity.
How much space is required?
4ft x 4ft space is all that is required with an electrical outlet for the light. Any chair will do as you can just bring the teeth whitening light up to the client.
Is there a warranty on the light?
There is a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty on the light and a lifetime warranty on the light if the client orders at least 10 kits per month.
How long does shipping take?
We ship within 1-2 days once we receive your order. Allow 3-5 business days for delivery within the USA and Canada.
How often do I have to sanitize the light?
Sanitization of the light is extremely low maintenance because they do not ever physically touch the client’s teeth. To sanitize after each session, remove the plastic sheath guard from the light and simply wipe down with a mild cleaning solution.
When should I replace the plastic sheath guard on light?
The removable plastic sheath guard should be replaced when they start to appear blurry or “foggy”. This is usually after about 50-100 uses.
How should I adjust the light?
To improve the longevity of your light, make sure to always firmly hold the base and adjust at the neck. When whitening the client’s teeth get light as close as you can without touching the client’s mouth.
Does client’s need to rinse after getting their teeth whitened?
This is completely optional and up to your discretion. Some clients may want to rinse which is completely fine while others will be just fine spitting everything out. If rinsing is something, you or your client want to do make sure it is with room temperature water. Teeth will still be sensitive after whitening and using too hot or too cold may result in discomfort for client.
Post Whitening and Whitening Pen Instructions
Tooth stains are caused by what we inhale, eat, and drink. It is important to follow these instructions to continue maintaining and get 2-3 more shades whiter teeth. Results achieved from our teeth whitening system can last up to two years, but it is dependent on your habits.
Consume only water for 1 hour after whitening. The next 24-48 hours are critical to successful whitening. Teeth whitening can leave the outer layer of the teeth, the enamel, porous and more vulnerable to absorbing stains. Please follow the instructions below for the best results.
A whitening pen is essential to maintaining a white smile and can be used daily. The pen needs to be stored in a cool dry place and cannot be exposed to heat for a prolonged period. The whitening pen typically lasts 45-60 days and depends how much gel is used during application. Careful not to overfill the applicator brush. Once it is saturated it can be used for 3-4 sessions before having to fill it again.
Avoid dark food & drinks for 24-48 hours.

NUYU Teeth Whitening rapidly produces a noticeably brighter and whiter smile for staining caused by coffee, tea, tobacco, and red wine along with some cases of intrinsic staining. Our products can whiten accumulated stains on veneers and crowns back to their original color. NUYU Teeth Whitening pens can be purchased separately to help maintain and improve teeth whiteness when used regularly and as directed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Most people with healthy teeth and gums will experience no discomfort during the NUYU Teeth Whitening process. If you have any adverse reactions to whitening agents such as carbamide or hydrogen peroxide, or are not sure, please consult your dentist prior to having your teeth whitened. Tingling or slight sensitivity is normal and not harmful to your gums or enamel. Occasionally, gum or lip discomfort is experienced by particularly sensitive individuals. To prevent this, lightly coat the affected areas with Vitamin E. For teeth sensitivity it is best to use a Potassium Nitrate/Fluoride mix such as Sensodyne toothpaste. Following the whitening for those individuals who have sensitive teeth and or gums, it should subside within 24 hours.

Have existing tooth decay, periodontal disease, or gingivitis.
Are photosensitive to light or on any photosensitive drugs.

Veneers and Crowns will only be whitening to their original color depending on how old they are.
AFTERCARE AND FOLLOW UP
For a minimum of 24 hours after the process, avoid consuming coffee, tea, dark colored soda, red wine, berries, candy, red sauces, beets, chocolate, or any other foods that have a propensity to stain your teeth. A good guideline is, if it stains a white shirt, it will stain your teeth. Of course, brush and floss as directed by your dentist. Ensure you follow post whitening instructions to enhance and keep your new white smile longer.
There is no definite answer as to how long the whitening effect will last; this is highly dependent on many individual factors, including the current condition and age of your teeth, diet, alcohol and tobacco consumption, genetics, and dental, general, and periodontal health. It is recommended that you use the whitening pen as directed for 30 days after your first whitening to help blend, maintain, and brighten your smile longer.

B ‘B’ stands for brush up. Instruct clients to use a gentle, circular motion to simply dry the surface of their teeth. Being aggressive or harsh during brush up may result in sensitivity during teeth whitening sessions.

E ‘E’ stands for vitamin E swabs. Each client should use 2 vitamin E swabs. If they are fairer skinned or look like they would sunburn easily use 3. Have clients apply vitamin E on gums and lips.

T T’ stands for teeth whitening tray. Open packaging and have the client remove the tray; if you are wearing gloves feel free to do so yourself. Make sure the client gently bites down until the gel almost reaches the gum line. Instruct them to not use forward pressure or try to press it against their teeth. This will result in blanching and sensitivity during the session.

Provide client red goggles for eye protection from light

Turn on teeth whitening light on the back. Once on use the start/stop button found on front and hold for 5-10 seconds to activate. Once activated and the timer shows “30” you will need to press the start/stop button again to begin teeth whitening session.

After the light turns off and the session is over, find clients After Whitening shade with the shade guide and show them how they did!
